Fourth of July in Naples

It’s no surprise that the parade and fireworks have been cancelled this year as the country is still being impacted by COVID-19. However, with Naples safely reopening all businesses to varying capacities, there are still plenty of ways to celebrate Fourth of July here in paradise.

Boat Rental + Keewaydin Island

While a boat rental is an obvious option for Fourth of July, we have our favorite spots to rent from so that you can get the maximum enjoyment out of your rental! If you want to cruise around Marco Island, we recommend a rental from Dolphin Cove Marina! We rented a boat for my 30th birthday and had such a great experience! After you’ve cruised around the island for a while, you can drop anchor at Keewaydin Island for a little beach time and lunch from Just Beachy Burgers boat restaurant.

Insider Hack:

Groupon has tons of offers for full- and half-day boat rentals but we recommend calling the businesses directly and asking if they will honor the special if you rent directly through them. Most often they will because then they don’t have to pay a portion of the sale to Groupon! Just another great way to support local businesses!

Sunset Picnic Dinner + A Grazing Plate

For a low key celebration with family and friends, head to the beach for a sunset picnic dinner. We love celebrations like this where everyone brings a dish to share, drinks, and their own chairs making it an easy breezy get together! If you don’t feel like preparing a dish, you can opt to support a local business like A Grazing Plate who will do all they heavy lifting for you! A Grazing Plate makes STUNNING Charcuterie Platters in ready-to-go boxes so you don’t even need to bring a platter! So grab a bottle of red or white wine and enjoy one of Naples’ stunning sunsets on one of its world famous beaches! Keep in mind that due to COVID-19, beach parking permits are required so if you do not have one, we suggest you Uber to the beach! Otherwise, you will definitely get slapped with a $200 ticket!!

Pedal Pub SWFL

We were introduced to Pedal Pubs on a trip to Nashville and while we don’t normally like to work so hard for a drink, we had so much fun and were so excited when we found out that Naples had a Pedal Pub of their own! The tour launches from Ankrolab and tours through Naples’ evolving art district, Bayshore making stops at various businesses including Celebration Park. Pedal Pub is BYOB and for those that have never been on a Pedal Pub, please keep in mind that you do actually have to pedal! After a few drinks on Pedal Pub, we absolutely recommend a hearty meal at one of the food trucks at Celebration Park! We love all the truck but the Lobster Mac & Cheese from Cousines Maine Lobster and the Pulled Pork Sandwich from Nawty Hogg BBQ are our favorites!

CycleBoat

If you want to pedal on water versus land (and not technically HAVE to pedal), then to take a CycleBoat for a sunset cruise! We were invited by CycleBoat to take a cruise and it was hands down one of the best cruises we have experienced here in Naples! CycleBoat launches from Celebration Park and makes its way through the channels before turning around at Tin City or Bayfront depending on the tide. CycleBoat is BYOB and BYOF so you can either pack a picnic or order food from one of the food trucks at Celebration Park!

Brewery Crawl

It surprises many that Naples is home to multiple breweries but they are responsible for the growing craft beer scene and we are loving it! Our favorite breweries are Ankrolab Brewing Co, Naples Beach Brewery, and Riptide Brewing Co! All three breweries host various food trucks throughout the week and feature live music during some evenings (schedules can be found on their websites)! Of the three faves, Naples Beach Brewery is the OG of Naples’ breweries with many of their beers featured in restaurants throughout Southwest Florida and Ankrolab is the newest of them all with some of our absolute favorite beers including Simplexity! Ankrolab also has our favorite outdoor seating area with a stunning beer tap water feature so we recommend ending your brewery crawl here or at least spending a little extra time here!

Despite the usual Fourth of July festivities being canceled, there are still plenty of ways to celebrate so please stay safe and have fun!

Cheers!

Matt & Megan
