Ankrolab Brewery Company

Located in the quickly evolving Bayshore neighborhood, Ankrolab is the newest brewery in town and it has now become one of our go-to spots. The revolving schedule of food trucks, games to play, and extensive outdoor patio complete with a tap water feature are the icing on the cake to the thoughtfully created beer on tap. Ok, now on to the Oktoberfest details. Ankrolab is releasing a classic fest beer but Adam, owner and brewer, took the classic one step further and recreated it with the water from Munich. This makes the fest beer as accurate as possible without booking a trip to Munich and ordering a pint at the actual Oktoberfest. Cool, right?! To hear how they do this and more water chemistry, watch the full conversation below!

To celebrate Oktoberfest, Ankrolab is hosting an all-day event on Saturday, October 19th. There will music, games, a food truck serving up delicious German food, and of course beer! In addition to the fest beer, Ankrolab will also be serving speciality one-off beers as well as a firkin cast that will be hammered open and served from for that day. Sounds like a party, right?

Bone Hook Brewing

Staying classic, Bone Hook is releasing a classic Marzen, an amber-colored German Lager. Did you know that the process of creating this classic began over five months ago? Brewed in the beginning of the summer season, this beer must be allowed to lager over summer before it can be served during Oktoberfest and the fall.

In addition to the Marzen, Bill also brewed a pumpkin spice ale which he let us taste before its release date! The ale does not contain actual pumpkin as Bill found that it typically adds little flavor. The flavor of the ale (and most pumpkin drinks and foods) actually comes from pumpkin pie spice (cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger) which Bill added to the kettle along with all-natural vanilla at the end of the boil infusing the flavors to the beer. From start to finish the pumpkin spice ale took three weeks to make!

While the brewery is not hosting an Oktoberfest event, it is worth noting that it is a great place to watch sports and enjoy some good food and beer. The brewery also hosts live music and trivia among other events which are announced on their social media pages!

Naples Beach Brewery

The original brewery in Naples, Naples Beach Brewery is also hosting an all-day event on Saturday, October 12th. We sat down with Will, owner and brewer, to get all the details on the beers being released, the food that will be served at the event, and more!

For beers, they are brewing a festival beer, a pumpkin beer, and a new beer, Bad Goat, which will be a take on the traditional German-style wheat beer. For food, G’s Kitchen will have their food truck parked and ready to serve traditional German food with a twist! Three of the dishes will be cooked with the three beers being released for the event!

If you didn’t know, Will did a portion of his training in Munich and has vast knowledge as to the cultural meanings behind the Oktoberfest celebrations. For a brief insight, watch the full conversation below!
