The Local: Where the Locals Dine

 
 

Tucked away in a quiet strip on a busy intersection, The Local serves a curated yet ever changing farm to table menu based on what is delivered to the restaurant day to day. Chef Jeff, owner and Executive Chef of The Local, works closely with local ranchers, farmers, sea mongers, and artisans to serve fresh and creative dishes that cater to everyone from the meat lover to the adventurous vegan. In addition to sourcing local, Chef Jeff and his team also make many of the menu’s ingredients in house including many of the sauces, dressings, soups, cheeses, and even meats! When we were invited for a menu tasting, we trusted our waiter to recommend of the best of the menu and wow, did he and the restaurant deliver!

 
 

The Local’s Faux Cocktails

What are faux cocktails? Not what you think! The Local does not hold a liquor license yet they are known for an array of cocktail concoctions with “vodka”, “whiskey”, “gin”, and even “rum”. Rather than distilled liquors, The Local crafts their cocktails with fermented wines and to be honest, we could not tell much/if any of a difference! The “liquors” smelled and tasted so similar that even Matt (a bourbon lover) could have been fooled!

 
 

The Insider Menu Favorites

When visiting restaurants we will always recommend our fave dishes because hey, who wants to waste money on lack-luster dishes right? Well, The Local is unique because not only does their menu change based on the season, it changes based on the day’s delivery. This means that you could go on a Monday for a steak with grilled asparagus and on Tuesday, the steak is being offered with a different (yet equally delicious) vegetable! That being said, we tried a little bit of everything including salads, pizzas, pastas, steaks and desserts, and to be honest, everything was absolutely delicious. Think we’re kidding? Well, go try for yourself!

 
 

Insider Tip

If you want to chat with the team (including Chef Jeff), we recommend heading to dinner early because dining room fill quickly as the evening goes on. Also, The Local serves what is said to be an amazing brunch so we highly recommend paying a weekend visit as well!
