FRIDAY FIVE: DIY Poolside Resort Day

We are currently in Chicago visiting friends and family and we are FREEZING! When people told me my blood would thin after moving to Florida, I thought they were joking but now I know that they were completely serious. When I lived in Chicago and we had a random 50-degree day in October I would clear the calendar and spend the entire day outside. Now…I am in a sweater, jeans, boots, and a jacket. Go ahead, judge me!

This cold weather has me dreaming of a lazy day poolside back home, so I rounded up my favorite DIY Poolside Spa Day tricks that will make you feel like you’re getting pampered on a resort vacation. I already told Matt that this is the first thing we’re doing when we get back to Naples!

1 Spa Water

There is something so luxe about fruit infused water especially when you’re sipping on it while lounging by the pool so I’ll always throw together a pitcher before heading outside. My favorite combos are lemon and blueberry, mint and strawberries, a berry mix, or oranges! Such a great way to stay hydrated and to space the cocktails out a bit!

2 Chilled Towels

Whenever we stay at our favorite resort here in SWFL, I always look forward to the chilled towels that they offer guests every hour. After nearly harassing the staff for their secret, they finally shared that the towels are soaked in mango water which is why they have a subtle sweet scent to them. I, of course, now replicate that at home because, why not?

3. Spa Music Playlist

I find the playlists at spas to be so relaxing and to really add to the overall feel of my time there. After a lot of searching, I finally found a playlist that closely resembles those of my most favorite spas.

4. Fresh Fruit & Cheese Platter

There is something about being out in the sun that makes me so hungry so I like to have a prepared platter of easy snacks like sliced fruit, cheese, and veggies to munch on throughout the day. Having these snacks also stops me from coming inside for the day and reaching for a bag of chips because I am on the verge of hangriness!

5. Chilled Face Mask

I am notorious for being out in the sun too long so I always make sure that my favorite post-sun face mask is chilling in the refrigerator. After a shower, I will apply a layer of my current fave, Summer Fridays Jet Leg Mask, and then either put another chilled towel over the top or use an ice roller. It calms my skin down so quickly and removes any redness!

What do you do to make your pool days a little extra fancy?
